A surprise on my needles

Dear readers, I'm not going to tell you what I have on my needles. I can only tell you it is something blue. It is meant to be a surprise for someone I know. That someone has a wife and children. My plan is to surprise the wife too. And it seems I may have to knit another blanket for a prince or a princess.
How so?
A friend of mine told me one certain person has already privately committed to his girlfriend. The big "I do!" day is in November. There's no chance I could make them a congratulating gift, but if I keep hurry, I may have time to make a present for a prince or a princess. But all this is secret. Sometimes I hate secrets, but I must keep them, wanted or not. I want the targets to be surprised.

Some knitting

Dear readers, here I sit again. I spun some yarn this summer. Now I realized the yarn refuses to become plied, so I must leave the plying plan and just knit the single together with some other yarn. It seems the single behaves nicely when you knit it. Some little boy may get a little cardigan soon. I don't know where the said boy is. I do not know if someone is expecting him. I don't know if he has been born already. But I just know I like to knit that little "vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce" cardigan.

About my knitting

Dear readers,here I sit again. The funeral sweater project has made some progress. The test version 2 is ready. But! But but but! A friend of mine must check, if the front & the back are equal in length. If not, I must re - knit the front and mark the necessary changes to the pattern as well.
If the length is OK, she and I try to join the sweater as complete and see, if it fits me well. If the answer is yes, that means I have found The Pattern and I can start knitting the actual funeral sweater. If not, I may have to start all over again. That is, to find yet another pattern, test knit, check the length etc. Oh well, at least I'm knitting.
I also have some happier knitting to do. This blanket you see in the picture, it will travel to America. That much I can tell you, but I can't share the name or location of the new owner. This is a surprise, you see, and I want it to stay that way.

Banana ice cream must wait a little bit longer

Dear readers, I got something done, yes, but it's not what I told you earlier. This project is a scarf. It is an ice cream scarf, but it's not banana ice cream with whipped cream. Instead it is pear - raspberry - blueberry - ice cream.

Dear readers, here I sit again. You should see a scarf in the picture. It is a surprise I made for a friend. She is an older woman. She was very surprised. She can't wear wool, so I used cotton through the scarf.

A blanket for a little princess

Dear readers,here I sit again. If you see a pink blanket in the picture below, you see right. It is a blanket that has a big, pink stripe in it. The blanket is meant for a little princess. She lives within the borders of Finland. I know her grandmother, so maybe the grandmother can arrange the blanket for the new owner. I am sad I found out this late, but better late than never.

Unbelievable! Over one pound already!

Dear readers, here I sit again. You don't believe, how much yarn I have consumed this year. The converter from the Internet said 1 lb 2.5541 oz! I admit it, I am surprised. Why, we live only February and I've already consumed that much yarn! I admit the 2 scarves have their part in the big number, but every pound is counted, if you ask me. I am glad about this, though. Who knows, how much the numbers will be, when it's December 31st.

WOOOOOOHOOO! I DID IT!

Dear readers, I know you don't believe a word, but it's true. I have knitted more than 6.6 lbs yarn during this year! Excel tells me the truth, and that's how I found out about that. My current WIP is a secret. Actually all my knitting is quite secret. Why? Well, if I declare my project to the whole world, a stitch will drop or something else equally bad will happen, but if I stay silent, everything goes fine. As simple as that. Let's knit, shall we?

Thanks to Olympics, I did it

Dear readers, here I sit again. Look at this picture. If you see the orange one in the middle, I did not make that during the Games. No. I did it earlier. Now, if you see the 2 on each side of the orange one, those 2 are the ones I've made during the Games, or rather during the opening ceremony and the 1st real competition day, which is today. When I weighed in these pieces, the final sum was 84 grams.
