Dear readers, the slipover is making progress. I think I know where it goes, but I am not going to say anything. It is a secret. I hope I can manage to surprise the new owner. But I have many phases to go yet.

A surprise on my needles

Dear readers, I'm not going to tell you what I have on my needles. I can only tell you it is something blue. It is meant to be a surprise for someone I know. That someone has a wife and children. My plan is to surprise the wife too. And it seems I may have to knit another blanket for a prince or a princess.
How so?
A friend of mine told me one certain person has already privately committed to his girlfriend. The big "I do!" day is in November. There's no chance I could make them a congratulating gift, but if I keep hurry, I may have time to make a present for a prince or a princess. But all this is secret. Sometimes I hate secrets, but I must keep them, wanted or not. I want the targets to be surprised.

Dear readers, I sent some packages today. One is for the parents of the prince, and another is for another friend of mine. Her family has treated me very well.

Still no baby news

Dear readers, I haven't heard any baby news and that's good. I've time to knit the pieces for the blanket, if someone will get a surprise baby. The colors are green and white. Unisex enough, if you ask me.

Some knitting

Dear readers, here I sit again. I spun some yarn this summer. Now I realized the yarn refuses to become plied, so I must leave the plying plan and just knit the single together with some other yarn. It seems the single behaves nicely when you knit it. Some little boy may get a little cardigan soon. I don't know where the said boy is. I do not know if someone is expecting him. I don't know if he has been born already. But I just know I like to knit that little "vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce" cardigan.

Banana ice cream must wait a little bit longer

Dear readers, I got something done, yes, but it's not what I told you earlier. This project is a scarf. It is an ice cream scarf, but it's not banana ice cream with whipped cream. Instead it is pear - raspberry - blueberry - ice cream.

Dear readers, I have another secret project on my needles. I hope from the bottom of my heart it works fine. This far it looks just nice. I hate to be this mysterious, but if I let the whole world hear about this, it will fall apart for sure. I hope I am able to make a little bit more public knitting when this project is done.

The scale said 75 grams. I don't know what I am going to knit from this, but I am sure this will find a good new home, once the time is right.

A blanket for a little princess

Dear readers,here I sit again. If you see a pink blanket in the picture below, you see right. It is a blanket that has a big, pink stripe in it. The blanket is meant for a little princess. She lives within the borders of Finland. I know her grandmother, so maybe the grandmother can arrange the blanket for the new owner. I am sad I found out this late, but better late than never.

A blanket for a baby

Dear readers, if you see a picture of a white, basketweave stitch blanket, believe your eyes. It is for a grandson of my friend. She lives in a country called Latvia. This blanket is an everyday blanket for the little one. The festivity one will be green. I will knit and send it later, but the main thing right now is, that the everyday blanket is done and I hope I will be able to send it soon.

Some new numbers

Dear readers,here I am again. You may want to know, how much yarn I have consumed in 2014. Well, here's the number: 3lb 10.449oz. I am so happy about it!

And of course you want to know, how heavy that scarf is. Well, in some part of the English speaking world the scale says 0lb 14.815oz. It's very small number. In my world (in Finland, that is) the weight of the scarf is 420 grams.

WOOOOOOHOOO! I DID IT!

Dear readers, I know you don't believe a word, but it's true. I have knitted more than 6.6 lbs yarn during this year! Excel tells me the truth, and that's how I found out about that. My current WIP is a secret. Actually all my knitting is quite secret. Why? Well, if I declare my project to the whole world, a stitch will drop or something else equally bad will happen, but if I stay silent, everything goes fine. As simple as that. Let's knit, shall we?

Dear readers,
I have sooo much projects I can hardly concentrate!!!!! First I had to make one green and blue baby blanket. That project was successful. But when I tried to repeat that project with 2 strands of another yarn, it was a failure. Oh well...that is life, I guess. But I am going to re-knit that yarn. But it has to cool off a bit first.
